Description

Multi-purpose cleaner and tartrate remover

CLEANSKIN-K can be used on general winery equipment to remove dirt and tartrates while saving time and water.
  • Potassium carbonate-based formulation that uses the power of oxygen to effectively clean stainless steel and associated materials
  • It is effective at removing tartrates, wine color, protein, and organic soils
  • Can be used in tanks, presses, destemmers, and juice channels
  • 100% active cleaning product that contains active cleaning agent and proprietary percarbonates, chelation and sequestering aids, polysurfactants, and a rinse aid
  • Works well over a wide temperature range (20-60°C/68-140°F)
  • Requires no neutralizing rinse - Drain and remove from the system with a single-pass clean water rinse

Recommended Dosage: Download the AiRD Dosage Card

  • General Range: 0.50 - 4.0 kg/100L (0.67-5.34 oz/gallon)
  • For wine film with no/light tartar: 0.5-1.0 kg/100 L
  • Wine film with moderate/heavy tartar: 2.0- 4.0 kg/100 L

Preparation:

  1. Begin with the appropriate volume of water* for the system being cleaned. The water should be between 68-140°F (20-60°C).
  2. Prepare appropriate volume of water, accurately measure the correct weight of the CLEANSKIN-K.
  3. Slowly add the powder into the water mixing until a consistent solution is obtained.
  4. Initially the prepared solution will appear milky, but will soon clarify. Once the solution has clarified it is ready for use.
*Note: Because CLEANSKIN-K is a no-rinse product, only clean, potable water should be used to prepare your cleaning solution.

Pro Tip: To optimize tartrate cleaning, particularly after using chilling to achieve potassium tartrate stabilization, you should allow the very cold solids and the tank interior to return to ambient temperature before beginning your cleaning regime. At this time the crystals are soft and are still in a state of hydration making cleaning easier. Avoid letting the crystals dry onto the surface, this makes cleaning more challenging.

Storage: Store in a dry, odor free environment between 50-68°F (10-20°C), away from sunlight.
